Into Battle I Lead You « Thread Started on Nov 9, 2007, 4:17pm »
OOC: I went more for quality than quantity... anyways everyone just gather here and when we're pretty much all here we'll have them move out and I'll make a new thread in a battleground.
Siggy stood silently on top of a hill on the edge of the Valley. He was staring at the path that his herd would take to reach the battlegrounds and he was absorbed in his thoughts. This could be the last few minutes he or any one of his herd members spent in Valley and the thought had been bothering him for days. His flexible nape swung to look behind him and he stared at the beautiful land he had come to call home. This terra held so many memories-both good and bad, and it meant more to him than he ever knew a chunk of land could. This was his home, all of his children had grown up here, his mate had been found here, he had met most of his friends here, the list could go on and on.
A single tear fell out of his large, friendly brown eyes. An ominous feeling was overtaking him and he wondered what would happen if his own life was taken in a battle. He had confidence that Fog could lead the herd with Tizzy by his side, but he desperately wanted to meet his grandchild that they were expecting and to tell Wings that she could take Shade as her mate if that’s what made her happy. And he wanted to grow even older with Flyte. He was beginning to realize how little time he really had in comparison to the tasks that he wanted to live to accomplish.
He had no need to rear and call his troops, they would come. He knew that as sure as there’s water in a sea his family and herd would feel the need to join him here at the very edge of their homeland. And when they came he knew that each and every one of them would fight for what they believed in… or die trying.

A tremor of fear pulsed through the cleric's bodice as she saw her leader standing by the border. So it begins. She thought grimly. She did not want to die, she had only been here for a little amount of time, such a very little amount. She had wanted to live and prosper in this valley for years to come, until old age took her away. Siggy, Flyte, Chronos, Fog, Wings, Melody, Tizzy..what if this mrch into battle was her last? What if she never lived to see the faces of her herd, her family, again. Tears welled in her eyes, but she shook them away. Many years ago she had vowed not to cry after her mother had died. Perhaps it was not advisable to keep all of that bottled up inside, but if ever, now was not the time. She had to be more alert, more focused, then ever before. Her mind must know the herb as soon as the injury came to her seeing, and not be overwhelmed with the chaos of battle.
She was a coward. She had been trained in this knowledge for this one reason, to use it when called upon. Sure, she had used it before. An infection, a scratch, a fungus, maybe even a long gash, but here was her true test. She had to serve her herd nobly or die in the attempt. An overwhelming wave of confidence came over her, not exliling but over powering her fear. Breaking into a canter she came up to Siggy giving a low nicker in greeting, and lowering her poll in submission to their great old leader. She looked out of the light lands and onto the great battlegrounds waiting for them. THe fear was back. With an embarassed neigh she said,
"Siggy I am scared, but I will serve you with the best of my abilities, or I am not Windwhisper the Healer."

Tatika had been wondering around aimlessly for quite a while now, whne she came upon two horses standing on the top of a hill. She got frazzled, hoping that finally someone could tell her more about what was going on!!!

Storm and shade stopped their bickering and looked up at the top of the high hill to see siggy standing there. Their nostrils filled with the scents of war and terror. It is time They thought to themselves. Shade stood and went to Wings. Storm went towards Siggy and stood next to him staring out at all the was the light valley. Shade nudged Wings to follow and he went up there and bowed in front of Siggy then joined the side of storm.

ooc;; I creid while writing this, so beware people. I don't cry easily.
So. This is what it all came to. This thought of war that had made them all so . . . happy? No happy wasn't the word. The word was . . . terrified. At first it had all been fine, some were even excited to start slaughtering darks. But what it all came down to was that they would die. They. Would. Die
And standing her with her family, the one that had taken her in when she was so young and naive, is when the true, unrelenting mortal terror and depression started to kick in. Just for the sake of Siggy, just for the sake of Fog, just for the sake of everyone she wanted to fight. Yet some things held her back. She had to take care of the foals. Storm and Viax's Melody, and her own and Fog's yet unborn one.
A tad bit startled and worried that Fog wasn't there yet, Tizzy found her comfort at that time would be found by Siggy. With heavy strides she slowly moved herself over toward her hero, the one who had acted like a father to her for so long, the one who had fathered her love. Her young, normally happy orbs looked up at him in such a way that it would force one to look away. They seemed to hold all the understanding, all the terror, and all the tears in the world. But as she stared at him, only a single salty drop fell from them, then she turned her away, letting her head sag.
It was a sad sight, all normal happiness of the lights gone. Instead all there was was a bunch of equines looking half-dead. Oculars closed on the world, and memories ran through her head. The one that hit home most was right after her and Fog had escaped the Mountain Realm once. They had reached the small river that ran along the border of the light lands. That's when he asked her to be his mate. A muffled sob escaped her muzzle and she didn't hold the rest back.
With her tassels swaying slightly in the breeze that chilled the marrow of bones, she cried. For what else was there to do? Smile? I don't think so. Wait? Yes. She could only wait for the worst . . .

Flyte trotted up, stopping right besides Siggy, their shoulders pressed together. She exhaled quietly, then lifted her head higher and surveyed the other horses.
Fog walked up calmly, slow paced. He nodded as he passed his parents. He should have been next to them, but he was going to where he rightfully belonged.
With the softest nicker, he stopped next to Tizzy and blew in her mane gently, then nuzzled her neck.
Wings blinked at Shade, then slowly walked after him. She stopped in front of her father, glancing between her mother and him, then blowing out softly and reaching her muzzle forward.
Flyte reached forward, softly touching her muzzle to her daughter's. "Sometimes only time can lead your fate," she murmured.

Tatika saw that horse that everyone called "Tizzy". Tatika ran over to her, and Tizzy seemed to her to be well..... depressed. "That's it!!! I want to know why everone is so sad! And what is all this "war" business?!!!"

Luchador trotted in. He was not that worried about dieing anymore, he had past and past was going to bare a child of his. He also didn't fear dieing since now his blood will live on. Luchador went to Siggy and lowered his head "I figured I would inform you that the neutrals have sided with the darks, I refuse to side with them and have chosen to aid the lights if you allow me to. I also have my mate past, however she cannot fight due to the fact that she is baring a child." He lifted his head and looked up into the eyes of his first leader, Siggy had seemed like his father while he was growing up, since he was his grandfather and Luchador had grown up with out his actual father.

((Time for my bipolar one to come in XD))
Passion's head was hung low. She couldn't believe herself. Going over to the darks? AGAIN?! She was in the midst of horses now, on the borders of the light lands and what seemed to be a war ground. She stopped, and planted her hooves down, her body refusing to her reluctant obeying mind. Her razors were clenched, she wouldn't do this. Not no way not no how. She raised her crown, and was surprised to see Siggy beside her. She drew in a deep breath, and said to him, "I don't care if I get ripped to shreds. I'm NOT siding with those flea-bitten mongrels." As if that had lifted a veil of grief that was upon her withers, she smiled a little, but then her face was back to it's normal solemness. She looked at all the horses there, and actually recognized one who she half expected to be there. She trotted to him, and said, "We don't owe them anything." Her orbs were kind, the kindest they had ever been in her time in the lands. She then walked back up to Siggy, and looked out at the Terra beneath their hooves.
Chronos galloped after Siggy, though not all that happy to be at the war grounds. He stopped, and looked around. Mainly at the Ground beneath them all. It looked like a graveyard, but worse. Oh so much worse than a graveyard. He wouldn't be surprised if some angry spirits came and attacked them all. Not at all. He inhaled quickly, feeling a strange urge to fight. To kill. Was the war doing this? The anticipation, it was killing them all inside, little by little. But he couldn't wait to fight some dark herd members. He hadn't even seen any of the recent ones yet. But the fact that they were on that other side, somewhere on the horizon, bothered him. The darks were below them all. They were the mere shadows of the light herd. Or at least, the old ones were. "I want this war to start all ready," was all he mumbled. For the rest of the time though, he would remain quiet unless spoken to.

Tatika had seen two horses speaking about the neutrals. She did hear that the one they called Luchador, was saying that the neutrals had sided with the darks. Tatika, taking a bold step trotted over to them and said [b] "Hi. I know what's going on now, and you don't know me... but... what do you mean about the neutrals? "
